Services Provided: Outpatient services offered include assessments, family, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, abuse and trauma treatment and medication management. We also work closely with DCFS for assessment and treatment.
Outpatient treatment focuses on decreasing a child’s symptoms in order to enhance and maintain the child’s level of functioning, including supportive stabilization, crisis management, coping skills, problem solving, and elimination of dysfunctional or risky behaviors. Valley offers an east and west location for convenience. Outpatient services are also available in selected elementary, middle and high school sites in Salt Lake, Granite, Canyons, Murray and Jordan school districts individual and family therapy as well as providing access to community support programs.
For clients aged 12 and older, we also offer substance use services including those focused on co-occurring disorders.

Eligibility: Patient Advocate referral, funds 1 patient per week for substance abuse treatment, excluding residential. Salt Lake County residents who have an identified substance abuse disorder and are Guard members and their families or significant others, or self referred and do not have the ability to pay for services. Must not be subject to a court order or condition of probation that dictates a specific treatment or recovery support service.
Services Provided: Provides vouchers of funding to clients for certain recovery support services to assist them in initiating and maintaining recovery from drugs and alcohol. Funding is potentially available for transportation, housing, and other barriers to recovery.
To enroll in an Access to Recovery Voucher program, an individual will receive an assessment to see if they are eligible, and then will be given the list of centers and/or organizations that take part in the ATR program. Once they make a choice, they will get a voucher that lasts 90 days at the treatment center that they chose.

Eligibility: Children and youth, families. Treatment for those who otherwise are unable to afford treatment, sliding scale. Childcare available. Patient diagnosis must be appropriate for outpatient treatment. Subsidized substance abuse and domestic violence treatment services are primarily available for Salt Lake County residents within income criteria. Children and adults from low-income families who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse.
Services Provided:

Provides counseling, therapy and support to families impacted by addiction to alcohol and other drugs, and/or involved with domestic violence. Children's Care Center available to accommodate the treatment schedule of parents.

  • Emotional or behavior problems
  • Abuse or neglect
  • Mood and anxiety disorders
  • Low self-esteem
  • Trauma-related symptoms
  • Engages in risky or self-harming behaviors or threatens suicide
  • Are older than the age range for parent-child groups but still affected by parental substance abuse.
