Services Provided: The Family Counseling Center, operated by Volunteers of America, Utah, provides affordable, professional, outpatient mental health services to individuals, couples and families. Services are offered through the “Community Cares” program on a sliding fee scale based on annual income, allowing each person to pay what he or she can afford. A majority of clients are the uninsured, middle-income or "working poor" families who are ineligible for welfare services or similar programs because they are employed, but are still unable to afford the expense of counseling.

Eligibility: Homeless or at-risk youth ages 15 to 22.
Services Provided: The Youth Resource Center is open 24/7 and provides 30 emergency overnight shelter beds, three meals served daily, shower and laundry facilities, basic needs items and a myriad of case management services including housing placement, counseling for mental illness, trauma and substance abuse, continued education coordination, job seeking assistance, legal services, and referrals to other necessary community services. Serves homeless and at-risk youth ages 15 to 22.

Eligibility: Homeless and low income men and women who need to complete the detoxification process, care for their children and move towards self-sufficiency
Services Provided: Provides supervised, residential detoxification services for Salt lake County men, 18 years and older, who need support during withdrawal from alcohol or other addictive substances. Men can begin the process of moving from addiction and despair to a life free from alcohol and/or drugs. All services are delivered in a manner that promotes dignity, respect, and self-determination.

Eligibility: Children and youth, families. Treatment for those who otherwise are unable to afford treatment, sliding scale. Childcare available. Patient diagnosis must be appropriate for outpatient treatment. Subsidized substance abuse and domestic violence treatment services are primarily available for Salt Lake County residents within income criteria.
