Services Provided: GIANT Steps is a day-treatment program for preschool-aged children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder either before or at the time of assessment. Our unit has six classrooms with a capacity of 12 children, serving a total of 72 preschoolers and their families (Medicaid & non-Medicaid). We have partnerships with the Alpine, Nebo, and Provo School Districts to provide Special Education services for our students. This relationship allows us to run our program in a typical school environment.

Eligibility: Youth with a mental health diagnosis from infancy through age 18. Medicaid.
Services Provided: Outpatient services offered include assessments, family, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, abuse and trauma treatment and medication management. We also work closely with DCFS for assessment and treatment.
Outpatient treatment focuses on decreasing a child’s symptoms in order to enhance and maintain the child’s level of functioning. These services include supportive stabilization, crisis management, coping skills, problem solving, and elimination of dysfunctional or risky behaviors.
Outpatient services are also available in selected elementary, middle and high school sites in Salt Lake, Granite, Canyons, Murray and Jordan school districts. Individual and family therapy and access to community support programs.
For clients aged 12 and older, we also offer substance use services including those focused on co-occurring disorders.
