(AIRS PH-3300.27-250) Programs that provide assistance in the form of labor and supplies for people with disabilities who need to install ramps, elevators, stair glides or lifts; widen doorways; install grab bars in showers and bathrooms; lower kitchen and other cabinets; or make other modifications in their homes or apartments to make them accessible. The Weatherization Program assists residents who meet federal low-income guidelines to lower their utility bills and improve the comfort of their homes. Services Provided: Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses, including critical home repair, with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat homes are affordable to families with low incomes, because the houses are modest, built largely by volunteers and the families themselves, and are sold at no-profit with a no-interest mortgage.

Services Provided: Habitat for Humanity is a long-term program that builds new and renovates existing homes with the help of volunteers, donated goods, services, and the sweat equity of participants. Participants are sold the home at/below market value, with no-interest mortgage. The mortgage payments are used to build new homes for future qualifying families.
