Programs that provide door-to-door (or curb-to-curb) transportation for purposes of shopping, banking, social events, medical appointments, getting to and from work, and similar activities for people with disabilities who need special accommodations and are unable to utilize other available means of transportation. Also included are programs that provide transportation for youngsters with disabilities who have no other means of accessing necessary specialized services and activities. (AIRS BT-4500.6500-170)

A community based program which assists individuals with disabilities to achieve or maintain self-sufficient, productive lives and live independently within their own communities. Programs include: help in attaining assistive technology; training for those losing their sight; caregiver and grief support groups; PAWS Animal Therapy Program; SCOODEO - a safety training program for those who have no other means of transportation than an electric scooter; PERKIE Travels - a coordinated cancer treatment transportation system to help get people to the Utah Valley area for their radiation treatment; nursing home diversion and transition programs and other programs.

Transportation service for people with physical, cognitive, or visual disabilities who are functionally unable to independently use the UTA fixed route bus service either all the time, temporarily, or under certain circumstances. Registered Paratransit riders may schedule trips with a pick-up or drop-off point within three-quarters of a mile boundary of a regular local fixed bus route or light rail station.
