Eligibility: No restrictions for the first visit. Any returning visit will require proof of income and family size. Qualified individuals can access services every 2 weeks and re-certify based on income every 3 months. Households must demonstrate there is a need for emergency food assistance due to circumstance beyond their control.
Services Provided:

Community Action Services and Food Bank is a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance and long-term support to help families in poverty become self-reliant.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Open for emergency food, housing and shelter services only during normal business hours. ADDITIONALLY: Temporary Rental Assistance is available to those directly affected by COVID-19 and not eligible for unemployment; please call for specific information.

COVID-19 - UPDATE: As of July 31, 2020 the temporary Rental Assistance is now open to those who are receiving unemployment benefits. Additional funding has been received and eligibility requirements have changed. Those who quality can receive up to $2000 for rent and utility purposes.

6. Family Readiness Program - assists DoD personnel and families prepare for and cope with separations due to deployments, remote tours, disasters, and evacuations.
7. Information and Referral - provides accurate, up-to-date information and referral to on and off base agencies and services for individuals and families.
8. Volunteer Resources Program - matching volunteers with opportunities to work, learn new skills, meet new people, and develop a better resume/portfolio of experience. Coordinates base volunteer activities and recognition.

Services Provided: Assists youth in a pre-employment training and life skills building environment. Within this environment, the youth have a wide array of experiences in which to practice the skills they learn - everything from drug and alcohol prevention to healthy family life styles, and from resume writing to community service. While youth learn these skills and give back to the community, they earn a bi-monthly stipend of $200 when required amount of hours is complete.
YouthWorks provides skill development in two areas:
Life skills development - resistance strategies, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, communication, goal setting, planning and implementation, team building, positive peer.
Employment skills development - project assessment, planning, development and implementation, cost breakdowns, budgeting, time management and organizing training.

Services Provided: Statewide representation in civil (non-criminal) legal matters for low-income persons, victims of domestic violence, Senior Citizens, Farm workers and Native Americans.
Legal matters include:
• Representation in protective order actions and domestic relations matters for victims of domestic violence (except in Salt Lake County, see Legal Aid Society 801-328-8849)
• Representation of clients with landlord/tenant and/or housing disputes. (Utah Renters Handbook accessed at http://www.utahlegalservices.org/public/flyers)
• Representation in cases seeking access to health care such as Medicaid, PCN and CHIP

• Representation of migrant farm workers regarding wage and labor issues
• Representation in consumer and collection issues
