Secondary or postsecondary education programs available in regular or trade high schools or through separate vocational centers or programs that provide formal preparation for semiskilled, skilled, technical or professional occupations for high-school-aged students and, in some cases, adults who have opted to develop or expand their employment opportunities, often in lieu of preparing for college entry. Vocational education programs help participants prepare for full-time employment upon graduation, part-time employment while in school or for more advanced vocational training at the postsecondary level. Assists youth in a pre-employment training and life skills building environment. Within this environment, the youth have a wide array of experiences in which to practice the skills they learn - everything from drug and alcohol prevention to healthy family life styles, and from resume writing to community service. While youth learn these skills and give back to the community, they earn a bi-monthly stipend of $200 when required amount of hours is complete.
YouthWorks provides skill development in two areas:
Life skills development - resistance strategies, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, communication, goal setting, planning and implementation, team building, positive peer.

Total household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Individual is responsible for paying home energy costs; household must contains at least one US citizen or qualified non-citizen.

Services Provided: The HEAT Program provides year-round energy assistance and energy related crisis assistance for eligible low-income households throughout Utah. The program runs each year from October 1 through September 30. It is advised that individuals continue making payments towards heating and/or cooling until the funds have been approved for their household. Individuals don't need to be in debt with heating/cooling costs to apply for HEAT. Appointments available at various locations throughout Davis, Weber, and Morgan Counties. For a limited time, those who qualify for utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.COVID-19 UPDATE: Offices are closed to the walk-in public at this time.
