Originally intended for single moms, the program is now serves all people regardless of gender, marital status, age, etc. Participants must speak English, possess GED or high school diploma, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Services Provided:

Helps increase the financial stability of low-to-moderate income households through obtaining a livable wage, learning basic financial principles, and connecting clients with other helpful and appropriate community resources, agencies, and asset-building programs. Provides individual employment and financial stability coaching to help with increasing household income opportunities and organizing financial matters. Offers free, year-round VITA tax assistance program to help with traditional tax filing up to three years past.

COVID-19 UPDATE: All VITA appointments for regular 2020 Tax Season have been filled. Weekly tax appointments will be available on a limited basis starting June 1st. Call for an appointment. Please also call for an appointment for other services.

Eligibility:

Clients must have internet access and an email account to file online. Must also meet income qualifications; $66,000 per year or less. Not all schedules and forms can be prepared.

Services Provided:

A program of Community Action Partnership of Utah (CAP). Utah’s statewide campaign to strengthen family financial stability through utilization of the Earned Income Tax Credit, (EITC), free tax preparation, and asset formation programs.

Eligibility: Serves low-income families who reside in Utah County with children under 3 years old with special needs.
Services Provided: Kids on the Move's Utah Respite Care Nights. This lovely little space is perfect for children with special needs and has a playroom and a sensory room. When the weather is nice volunteers and kids can go outside and play on Snow Springs Elementary's playground. All cases go though main intake at Orem.

IRS-certified volunteers prepare and electronically file tax returns during the general tax season. Westminster Pro Bono Tax Clinic has no income limit and can prepare returns for Schedule C, business, rental property, and stock transactions. COVID-19 UPDATE: Three locations to provide tax return services; walk-ins available at certain locations. Please visit website to set appointment at applicable location. Visit website often for any changes or updates. Phone lines are not manned, however calls will be returned but may take up to a week for those who may not have internet access. Locations are: SLCO GOVERNMENT CENTER, WEST VALLEY CENTER, and WESTMINSTER COLLEGE. Drop-off options available without an appointment; guaranteed 1 week turnaround on drop-off. Following all CDC and State guidelines.
