Programs that provide a therapeutic environment for individuals who have acute or chronic mental or emotional disturbances, who require more intensive treatment than that offered in typical outpatient treatment but will benefit from maintaining some portion of their daily routine, such as school or employment activities. Intensive outpatient programs usually meet for multiple hours several days per week.

Services Provided: Utah’s premier intensive in-home intervention designed to teach parents skills to change the unwanted behaviors of their children, and to improve family functioning. Three to four home-visits per week totaling 6-10 hours, typically lasting 10-12 weeks. Utilizes both para-professionals and licensed clinicians. After concluding the in-home period, a specialist continues to be a part of the family's life by remaining on-call, 24 hours a day, for the next year. The Specialist also conducts evaluations at three-month intervals after the intervention to track success and to identify possible challenges.
