Children 3-4 years old. Head Start is funded through a federal grant. Applicants must provide verification of age and income for the past twelve months or previous calendar year, whichever more accurately reflects the family's current circumstances. Priority is given based on income and additional selection criteria.

Promotes school readiness for children and self-sufficiency for families through Early Head Start and Head Start programs.

• Head Start

Transportation for children, social services, education, medical/dental resource, disabilities, mental health therapeutic services, speech therapy, meals provided. Parent classes also offered.

Head Start preschool programs serve 3 and 4 year old children. Early Head Start serves infants, toddlers up to age 3, and pregnant women. The program focuses on early learning, and health and family well-being to support school readiness. Services can be provided in the home environment or in a preschool setting.
