Programs that offer a telephone service that enables people who are troubled to talk confidentially about their personal problems with an empathetic listener. These programs are often staffed by volunteers who can offer referrals for ongoing treatment, if needed. (AIRS RF-8380) Hours vary by line.

Services Provided: Provides emotional support, encouragement, connection, crisis planning, and resources for anyone going through a difficult time. Talk line is free and confidential, staffed by volunteers. Open Mon- Fri 9am to 9pm.

Eligibility: Individuals with a desire to stop drinking. Homebound and hospitalized individuals can receive home support group visits.
Services Provided:

Alcoholics Anonymous provides a peer support group for those struggling with alcohol addiction. A free mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

Eligibility: Salt Lake County residents who are not in crisis, but seeking support.
Services Provided:

Provides callers within Salt Lake County with non-crisis mental health support, engagement and encouragement. Promotes wellness in a nonjudgmental and respectful manner by listening, empowering a person to resolve his or her own problem, and fostering a sense of hope, dignity and self-respect.
Callers may speak with peer specialists daily from 8 am to 11 pm.
