Ages 6 to 17

Provides a variety of day treatment programs for children and youth with mental and behavioral health symptoms that cause problems in the home, at school, or in the community. Day treatment is more intensive than outpatient treatment but less intensive than hospitalization.

Services Include:

• Adolescents in Motion (AIM)- a day treatment program for youth ages 12 to 17 years old. Provides support and therapeutic services for youth who are struggling with depression, anxiety, oppositional behaviors, anger management issues, and other associated symptoms. 
• Acute Children’s Extended Services (ACES)- an after school program that builds social skills for 6 to 11 year with behavioral and emotional challenges.
• Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT)- a day treatment program for youth ages 12 to 17 years old. Geared toward youth who are struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and other associated symptoms.
• Kids Intensive Day Services (KIDS)- a day treatment program for 5-12 years old that provides support and therapeutic services designed to prevent placement in higher levels of care (like the hospital or residential treatment).

Valley offers an east and west location for convenience. Outpatient services are also available in selected elementary, middle and high school sites in Salt Lake, Granite, Canyons, Murray and Jordan school districts individual and family therapy as well as providing access to community support programs.

Raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide. Local chapters in all 50 states with programs and events nationwide. Search for chapters on website.

Provides "QPR" (Question, Persuade and Refer) suicide prevention training to raise awareness about suicide as a problem in our community, identifies the most common causes of suicidal thinking, feeling and actions, and teaches the trainee three simple skills to help prevent the unnecessary tragedy of suicide. The program is available in Spanish.

A gatekeeper is anyone who is in a position to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and because of their training, knows what to do.

Training includes a QPR booklet for each participant, an expanded list of warning signs, and an expanded list of local resources. ( Fees are negotiated through QPR Institute.)

We also provide training for mental health professionals in suicide assessment and management and triage training programs for crisis lines and other first responders.
