Children's Hearing Aid Program serves children 0-5 years old. Children ages 6+ may apply for the Hearing Aid Recycling Program. Qualifying children must:

• be a resident of Utah
• be diagnosed as having hearing loss by an audiologist
• provide documentation from an audiologist with pediatric expertise certifying that he/she needs hearing aids
• be ineligible to receive a hearing aid through the state’s Medicaid program
• not have insurance coverage for hearing aids
• meet the financial need qualification criteria established by the department for participation

Provides access to hearing aids for financially eligible families. Accepts donations of used hearing aids and unused batteries.

Provides consult, resource, and direct education services to children who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind from birth to age 22. Services include special education, intermediate sign language instruction, hearing aids and braille and tactile aids. Also has audiological evaluations and beginner and developmental assessment for infants and toddlers, ages three to birth to three with a developmental delay or disability. Provides voice therapy to help patients change the way they speak to closely match their gender expression.

An early education program that provides home- and center-based services to children with hearing loss whose families want their children to learn to listen and talk. Routine hearing evaluations, hearing aid checks, and cochlear implant services are provided at no charge to families.
