A supportive, educational environment designed to transition students to the adult world through the development of personal skills and abilities. Instruction and activities are designed to guide students towards independence and participation in the community. All programs focus on the four main areas of transition: Education and Training, Jobs, Personal Life, and Living on Your Own.

Young adults 18 - 30 years old diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disability, or ADHD, tested with an IQ level of 85 and above, have the functional maturity to participate in the program, free from excessive debt, and motivated and determined to learn independent living, vocational, academic, and social skills.

Identified students with disabilities receive special education and related services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Education Act (IDEIA).

Provides special education students, ages 18-21 years old, with a school program for more vocational and social skills training. Students gain the skills necessary to live as independently as possible.

Provides and innovative live/learn environment for young adults on the autism spectrum.

Students ages 14 to 24 with disabilities.

Provides transition services to eligible students with disabilities as they transition from high school to adulthood and employment.

Ages 18-23, students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Provides a four year postsecondary curriculum of study to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Services Include:

• Person Centered Planning
• Support staff attends the class with the student
• Additional assistance through a two hour support class.
• Work specialty area. Most students are placed on-campus with a support staff member in their first year and gradually they have the opportunity to explore off campus placements.
• Students live on and off campus.

Students completing their four years with the Mason LIFE Program will graduate with a George Mason Certificate of Completion with a catalog concentration and a work specialty area.
