Programs include school readiness , home based parenting education, volunteer recruitment/placement, tutoring/ parenting volunteer opportunities, federated giving programs, planning/ coordinating/advisory groups, and proposal/grant writing services. New parents sign up to have a visitor come into their homes once a month to talk about about their child's development, activities to encourage proper development, and find resources in the community that can help with the parenthood transition. Trained home visitors provide information, age-specific activities, and resources that help parents increase understanding, discover children's strengths, and better meet their needs.
