Services Provided: Clinical services for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN). Children born with complex congenital heart disease (CHD) can be at an increased risk of developmental, learning and behavioral disorders.
The goal of the HCNP is to provide assessment, guidance and resources for those at risk. HCNP is a longitudinal program that starts while the infant is in the hospital. Patients are seen at: Inpatient consultation developmental screening, 12-24 months, 3-6 years, 9-12 years.

High risk conditions include: cyanotic heart disease; open heart surgery as a newborn, other risk factors combined with heart disease including prematurity, ECMO, genetic syndrome, seizures, heart transplant and history of cardiac arrest.
Provider Profiles: HCNP clinics are held in Salt Lake City twice a month. Assessments can require up to 4 hours.
A partnership with Primary Children's Hospital

The University of Utah has assumed responsibility for clinical services formerly provided by the Bureau of Child Development, Utah Department of Health.
