Eligibility: Statewide services are available to people with disabilities of all ages, all disabilities, parents, family caregivers, rehabilitation counselors, independent living specialists, special educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, allied medical professionals, and others who are concerned with and advocate for people with disabilities.
Services Provided: The Utah Center for Assistive Technology (UCAT) is a statewide resource offering information and technical services to help people with disabilities acquire and use assistive technology devices. UCAT offers free evaluations to anyone within the state of Utah.
Customizing devices: a well-equipped workshop and skilled staff can modify, design and fabricate new solutions.
Information and referral: each client is referred to the most appropriate staff member or to other community resources as circumstances warrant.
Utah Assistive Technology Teams (UCAT) serve special education students ages 3 - 22, advising in coordination with the annual IEP meetings.
For children ages 1-5 Go Baby Go Program adapts kids' electric cars for children with disabilities, at minimal to no cost. Other equipment includes a bath chair, a pediatric walker, and a scoot and floor sitter.
