Description: Programs that pay for, provide and/or install car seats that can be used to restrain infants or young children who are riding as passengers in motor vehicles. Also included are programs that provide booster seats for older children or provide referrals to organizations that provide the seats or the safety checks. (AIRS JR-8400.1500)

Services Provided: The Utah Center for Assistive Technology (UCAT) is a statewide resource offering information and technical services to help people with disabilities acquire and use assistive technology devices. UCAT offers free evaluations to anyone within the state of Utah.
Customizing devices: a well-equipped workshop and skilled staff can modify, design and fabricate new solutions.
Information and referral: each client is referred to the most appropriate staff member or to other community resources as circumstances warrant.
Utah Assistive Technology Teams (UCAT) serve special education students ages 3 - 22, advising in coordination with the annual IEP meetings.
For children ages 1-5 Go Baby Go Program adapts kids' electric cars for children with disabilities, at minimal to no cost. Other equipment includes a bath chair, a pediatric walker, and a scoot and floor sitter.

Eligibility: Self-referral. Children under the age of 18 does not need to be an existing patient and does not need to run through the Outpatient Clinic. Serves children greater-than-toddler-size kids, with poor head control, or significant neuromuscular disease. New patients up to age 18. Continuing patients to age 21. A loaner car seat is sent home and insurance submitted. Medicaid will cover.
Services Provided: A specialty clinic staffed by seating and therapy specialists held two Fridays each month. Specialty trained and certified car seat staff and a pediatrician will assess your child's car seat needs. will assess the needs of each patient. Families are educated on proper car seat usage specific to needs and each seat is custom fit to ensure proper vehicle installation.
