Guardianship Associates of Utah (GAU) provides direct guardianship, conservator, and trust services to individuals who have been deemed by a court of law to be incapacitated, incompetent, or legally disabled. Eligibility: Direct guardianship services limited to incapacitated persons with no one to serve as guardians. Priority is given to persons in life threatening situations such as abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation, or those at significant risk of such problems.
Services Provided: Provides public guardianship and conservatorship services (appointed by the court) to incapacitated adults without family members or friends to serve as their guardians. Any competent adult can be appointed as a guardian. Services provided directly and contractually. Guardianship services for people with developmental disabilities may be provided through contracts with private guardianship agencies.
